Hunter Hotel Advisors March 2019 Closings Roundup

Hunter Hotel Advisors - the nation’s leading investment advisory firm focused exclusively on the hotel industry – may have been busy at the 31st annual Hunter Hotel Investment Conference, but that didn’t slow the brisk closings activity for the month of March. We enjoy the time we spend with our colleagues and friends at the conference, but our core business – hotel investment sales and advisory – doesn’t stop when the conference turns off the lights on another fabulous year.

March 2019 closings included these properties:

Hampton Inn Atlanta Canton, GA – this 81-room property was built in 2008 and is located in Canton, Georgia, north of Atlanta. Situated in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains off I-575, the Hampton Inn Atlanta Canton is convenient to Northside Hospital Cherokee and surrounded by retail and restaurants.

Courtyard by Marriott, Dothan, Alabama – with 78 rooms, this recently renovated property is located in the vibrant city of Dothan, home to Fort Rucker, the primary flight training base for Army aviation, and a perfect fit for this agriculturally diverse area.

G6 / Motel 6 Portfolio properties – in their continued strategic partnership with G6, Hunter closed on 7 more Motel 6 properties across the U.S. The hotels, located in Slidell, LA; Baton Rouge, LA; Hershey, PA; Elko, NV; Sandston, VA; Tuscaloosa, AL; and Gulfport, MS are part of a corporate divestiture of assets in areas not supporting their core business principles. Since November 2018, Hunter has sold 25+ properties as we assist the firm in maximizing the value of their real estate will also finding quality franchisees and development partners.

Holiday Inn, Little Rock, AR – Hunter represented the buyer on this 150-room property located in Downtown Little Rock near the River Market District and the historic state capital. An institutional seller offered the property in a private, off-market listing.

TownePlace Suites & Courtyard by Marriott, Texarkana, TX – these all-suite properties in Texarkana were offered by a REIT as a single-asset sale or a portfolio, and were sold to a private investor. The Courtyard has 90 keys, and the TownePlace offers 85.  Both properties were recently renovated, and are located on the Texas side of the city, servicing Texas A&M-Texarkana, Texarkana Golf Ranch and the Red River Army Depot.

The March closings are a glimpse into the diverse offerings and national reach our firm practices.  We know local markets on a national level, and are as confident in our knowledge of Texarkana, Texas as we are in Los Angeles, Miami or Atlanta.  – Teague Hunter, President, Hunter Hotel Advisors.
